6 May 2019

On May 6, with the support of KAMAZ PTC and Sergey Kogogin, the Director General of the company, a concert of the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev took place at the automobile plant.

At noon, at lunchtime, the famous team made a classic hour program. The mobile stage was installed on the basis of six KAMAZ-5490 vehicles, on the production site between two Assembly lines. The event was attended by 3.5 thousand KAMAZ workers from different plants and divisions of the company, pupils and teachers of music schools of Naberezhnye Chelny, veterans.

The musical program was opened by Modest Musorgsky's Overture "Dawn on the Moscow river". Music by Claude Debussy, compositions by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and other famous composers were also performed.

Sergey Kogogin, Director General of KAMAZ PTC, thanked Maestro Valery Gergiev on behalf of the whole team for the magnificent concert, which became one of the performances at the XVIII Moscow Easter festival, and presented flowers. "This is such an unusual working afternoon turned out today at the automobile plant. Once again Naberezhnye Chelny is included in the program of the Moscow Easter festival", – said Sergey Kogogin. Welcoming the orchestra and colleagues, he compared the KAMAZ team with musicians who are proud of their works, and expressed the hope that KAMAZ cars will sound as beautiful as music for their customers.

"We are glad that we were able to visit KAMAZ in the anniversary year for the company and share with you the joy of this important date. We are used to, and the whole world is used to the victories of KAMAZ. Good luck and victory! Keep it up!"– appealed to the audience of Valery Gergiev.

Having visited the finishing production of the leading Russian machine-building enterprise, Valery Gergiev got acquainted with the KAMAZ-54901 car – the flagship of the company's latest product line. The well-known conductor also paid attention to the representatives of the city and national media, answering all the questions.

The performance took place in the framework of the XVIII Moscow Easter festival and was the only concert that the creative team gave in Naberezhnye Chelny, on the initiative of KAMAZ including the city in the rapid tour program. In just 16 days, the Mariinsky orchestra will have to cover 12,000 kilometers and perform in 22 Russian cities. As Valery Gergiev noted, the XVIII Moscow Easter festival continued the tradition of dedicating concerts to the anniversaries of composers: the eighteenth season is held under the sign of the 175th anniversary of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and the 180th anniversary of Modest Musorgsky.

For KAMAZ, this visit is notable for the fact that it took place in the year of the 50th anniversary of the construction of the auto giant. The tradition of performances of famous musicians on the Assembly line began in the years of construction of the auto giant and is successfully revived. As for Valery Gergiev's concerts, this is the fifth visit to Naberezhnye Chelny, which took place on the initiative of KAMAZ.
