11 January 2017

In 2016, the international airport Begishevo, one hundred percent owned by KAMAZ, significantly increased the volume of passenger traffic and cargo turnover by air transportation.

Notwithstanding the general decline in passenger air transportation and lack of charter flights to Turkey and Egypt, the Begishevo airport managed to increase passenger turnover in 2016 having services 380,997 passengers. This was achieved due to summer flights to the south of Russia, which numbered up to 12 flights every week. The cargo turnover of the airport was also raised up to 500,333 kg of carried loads as of the end of 2016, which is by 35% more than last year.

The list of air carriers cooperating with Begishevo became longer. The winter timetable of the airport is currently showing flights to Moscow by two new companies: Pobeda and Nordwind Airlines.

On December 25, 2016 the international airport Begishevo celebrated 45 years since its establishment. This is one of the oldest civil airports in Tatarstan. In 2016 the airport was included in the list of federal airports, and also was titled by passengers "the Best Airport of Russia" by version of the organizers of the second national award "Air Gate of Russia".
