GENERAL DIRECTOR OF KAMAZ VISITED TURKMENISTAN

General Director of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin took part in the Turkmen-Russian business forum held in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, on these days. The event is held to discuss prospects of strengthening industrial, trade and economic cooperation between business circles and companies of the two countries.

In his speech at the forum, Sergey Kogogin stressed that Turkmenistan was one of priority export markets for KAMAZ. During cooperation, the country received a large number of commercial vehicles, including those fr om the new lineup, towed vehicles, and also special vehicles for various sectors of the national economy. It was also noted that KAMAZ was ready to continue taking every effort for further successful business cooperation. As for the company’s potential deliveries of the latest vehicles, General Director of KAMAZ said that the company was Russia’s top producer of electric buses, those high-tech passenger vehicles.

“As far back as 2018, our company mastered the production of innovative transport means and launched its commercial output. During this period, the engineers of KAMAZ worked much on upgrading the model in order to raise consumer properties of the eco-friendly vehicles and passenger comfort. For now, about 800 electric buses have already been produced to run on the roads of Moscow. Besides, other Russian cities are currently testing the KAMAZ electric vehicle. Electric buses are the future of passenger transportation. We are glad to offer these vehicles to Turkmenistan and give an opportunity to assess all their advantages,” stressed Sergey Kogogin.

Developing partnership with friendly countries, KAMAZ is ready to produce electric buses in volumes necessary for Turkmenistan. The country has already received two KAMAZ electric buses and an ultra-fast charging station for testing under climatic conditions of Turkmenistan. These advanced vehicles were presented to the hakim of Ahal Region, Turkmenavtotransport agency, and Ashgabat’s passenger vehicle fleet operator. Today’s issue is when and where tests are to start.

Despite the sanction pressure, Russia continues to strengthen cooperation with friendly states, concluding new international contracts, implementing promising projects. Alongside with other Russian industrial enterprises, KAMAZ is ready to enhance strategic interaction.

We appreciate historical business and friendly relationships with our partners and have high hopes for broadening of our long-term partnership because it gives a good opportunity to join potential of two countries and develop mutually beneficial relationships. I’m convinced that in conjunction with the leadership of Turkmenistan we will achieve even greater results,” concluded his speech Sergey Kogogin having thanked President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow and partners for effective cooperation.

One of the issues on the agenda of the forum was a visit to the service center of KAMAZ PTC in Ashgabat. This educational and service center of KAMAZ with an area of more than 5 thousand square meters has successfully been working since 2008. The center not only delivers vehicles and offers their comprehensive maintenance, including diagnostics and overhaul, but also organizes trainings for Turkmen experts: they study peculiarities of design, operation, maintenance, diagnostics and running repair of KAMAZ vehicles.

To add to this, modern KAMAZ trucks service centers are being constructed in all welaýatlar (regions) of Turkmenistan. There are already three auto centers operating in Balkan, Mary and Lebap Regions. The fourth service center will be commissioned in 2023. It will be opened in Daşoguz Region in the second half-year. The new centers opened in Turkmenistan in 2021-2022 created new jobs wh ere technical experts improve their skill level at trainings, and also prove their qualification in practice providing customers with high-quality service. KAMAZ not only sells vehicles, but also offers their maintenance and spare parts.

Speaking at the forum, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Aleksey Gruzdev noted that Russian companies showed high interest in operation on the Turkmen market and took a comprehensive approach to it: of importance is not only delivery of vehicles and equipment, but also service maintenance, personnel training and other issues. He pointed to KAMAZ as an example of a company developing its distribution network alongside with a vehicle repair and maintenance network in Turkmenistan.
