In the next three years, the program for development of crankshaft production in which KAMAZ invests 1.3 billion rubles is to be implemented at the foundry.
Under the foundry modernization project, it is planned to purchase a new, fully robotized line, on the basis of a press with power of 6.5 thous. tonnes. Diversification products of the foundry are in hgh demand: this year, the foundry plans to make such products using existing facilities for a record sum – one billion rubles.
The new line is to be placed at Forge-and-Press Building #3 where there is a site of suspension repair, and where replanning is expected. In May, after the finish of the purchasing procedure, a partner company is to be finally determined to sign a contract for equipment delivery. This period is meant for a year and a half. The production line should become universal: there will be an opportunity to produce a range of not only crankshafts which are already mastered, but other forgings for KAMAZ and third-party customers too.
