SERGEY KOGOGIN MET WITH THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN

Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ PTC, a member of a delegation from Tatarstan, paid a working visit to Turkmenistan. During the meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, and the head of KAMAZ discussed joint projects implemented in various welayats and the implementation of a three-year contract for the supply of KAMAZ vehicles signed in 2019.

The parties discussed present-day realities and prospects for further expansion of long-term partnership. The head of Russia’s top truck manufacturer congratulated President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Turkmen people on the holiday and expressed gratitude for the cooperation. Sergey Kogogin assured the Turkmen leader that KAMAZ would continue to make every effort for successful cooperation.

Turkmenistan is one of the largest and sustainable sales markets for KAMAZ products. During the period of cooperation, more than 11,000 KAMAZ vehicles have been delivered to be used in various sectors of the country's national economy. Among them were 2 thousand vehicles sold by KAMAZ over the past three years, under the contract for the supply of vehicles and spare parts, which was signed by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan in 2019. KAMAZ vehicles have been fully delivered by now, spare parts will have been delivered in full by October. A wide range of serial vehicles is sent to Turkmenistan, including a new model line, towed vehicles, as well as special vehicles for various sectors of the national economy.

KAMAZ is also building its auto centers in the welayats of Turkmenistan. The official opening of the service center in Turkmenbashi is scheduled for late October 2021. The company plans to open a service center in Lebap by the end of 2021, and in Mary and Dashoguz in 2022.

A KAMAZ training and service center with an area of ​​more than 5 thousand square meters has been successfully operating in Ashgabat since 2008. The center offers not only vehicle supplies and their full maintenance, including diagnostics and overhauls, but also trainings for Turkmen specialists. There they can study features, operation, maintenance, diagnostics and current repair of KAMAZ vehicles.

In addition, the parties considered the prospects for the supply of a new batch of KAMAZ vehicles for various purposes. They also discussed a project to organize the production of special vehicles in Turkmenistan. To date, there is a list of special superstructures for installation in Turkmenistan. The partners discuss the possible assembly of tank trucks for drinking and industrial water, fuel trucks, loader-crane trucks, garbage trucks, aerial work platforms. The construction and commissioning of the assembly building at the service center in Ashgabat are scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2022.
