Tatarstan President Met with KAMAZ-master Team

A meeting of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with the KAMAZ-master team which had won a brilliant victory in the 2017 Silk Way Rally has taken place in the Kazan Kremlin. 

The intenrational 2017 Silk Way Rally which was held in mid-July became triumphant for the KAMAZ-master team: the crews piloted by Dmitry Sotnikov, Anton Shibalov and Ayrat Mardeev took first, second and third positions, respectively, in the truck event. Today, congratulations on the victory from the head of the republic were accepted by Vladimir Chagin, Head of KAMAZ-master, and also the winning crews and members of the team who contributes to the development and confident victories of this group every day. 

"Congratulations on the brilliant victory in the international 2017 Silk Way Rally to all of you! Your each victory is a new reason to be proud of you, this is a serious contribution to the collection of our republic and country. Every year your performance strengthens the authority of the Russian motor racing. Every year you prove that our vehicles, our pilots, navigators and mechanics are the best. I'm sure that there are many bright victories in difficult struggles with strong rivals in store for the team," said Rustam Minnikhanov wishing the sportsmen good health and new achievements. 

Tatarstan's President handed state awards to the members of Chelny's team who had contributed much to one more victory. Navigators Ruslan Akhmadeev and Aydar Belyaev, and also pilot Dmitry Sotnikov were awarded medals of the Order For Merits to the Republic of Tatarstan. Tatarstan's Medal For Valorous Labour was presented to pilot Anton Shibalov. Chief engineer Robert Amatych and miller Irek Giniyatov are now honoured mechanical engineers of the Republic of Tatarstan, and pilot Ayrat Mardeev, mechanic Dmitry Svistunov and test driver Ildar Shaysultanov are honoured transport workers of the Republic of Tatarstan. To crown it all, letters of acknowledgement from Tatarstan's President were handed to electrician Yury Bogorodsky, engineer Maksim Voyna, expert of the marketing department Oksana Zakharova, metal worker Ayrat Israfilov, head of the engine preparation and testing department Oleg Kulakov, mechanics Ilnur Mustafin and Dmitry Nikitin, and also storekeeper of the procurement bureau Elena Tubaeva.  

In 2017 KAMAZ-master presented its latest developments at Silk Way – racing vehicles with a new L6 engine with a capacity of 13 litres and an automatic gearbox. Both novelties endured a two-week testing at the marathon the route of which was laid across three countries – Russia, Kazakhstan and China.
