KAMAZ Group of Companies is the largest truck producer in the Russian Federation. KAMAZ PTC is one of the world's top 20 heavy duty truck producers and ranks 14th by production volumes of heavy-duty trucks with GVW exceeding 16 tonnes. 

Production capacity is 71 thousand vehicles a year.

One single production base of KAMAZ PTC Group of Organizations incorporates the overall truck manufacturing cycle, beginning fr om design, manufacture, assembly of vehicles and components and ending up with sales of finished products and service backup.

The process flow group includes several major plants involved in truck making business. The following operations are located on the industrial site in Naberezhnye Chelny: Foundry and Forge Plant, Engine Plant, Press and Stamping Plant, Truck Assembly Plant, Repair and Tool Making Plant, Master Industrial Park. Major subsidiaries situated outside Naberezhnye Chelny are NEFAZ PTC and TZA PTC (Republic of Bashkortostan).

KAMAZ Group of Companies comprises more than 100 organizations based in Russia, the former Soviet Union republics and other foreign countries.

The average headcount of the KAMAZ process flow group for nine months of 2021 is 31,820 persons.

In November 2021, 4,152 vehicle sets were produced (3,307 units in November 2020). In all for eleven months, 39,658 vehicles have been assembled (+20.6%, 32,880 units for the same period last year). As of the end of 2021, the sales volume is expected to reach 44 thous. vehicles.

Also, in eleven months of 2021, 43,286 engines and power units were produced (36,534 units, +18.5% for the same period of 2020). Since the beginning of the year, spare parts have been shipped for the sum of RUB 27.96 billion (+25%, RUB 22.36 billion for the same period of 2020).

KAMAZ Group received high financial results for six months of 2021 (according to IFRS). The consolidated revenue of KAMAZ PTC reached 118,853 million rubles, which is 40% higher than last year. The company's net profit amounted to RUB 3,969 million (+3,937 million rubles y-o-y). EBITDA for the reporting period increased 1.8 times and amounted to RUB 10,996 million (6 months of 2020: RUB 6,062 million).

The growth driver is an increase in truck sales by 45%, compared to the first six months of 2020. Revenue fr om truck sales for the first half of 2021 was received in the amount of 77,837 million rubles, a y-o-y increase made 60%.

The segment of buses, electric buses and special equipment showed a significant growth in sales (+47% to last year's figures).

According to preliminary data, for 11 months of 2021 KAMAZ gained 234.7 billion rubles, EBITDA amounted to 19.3 billion rubles – this is plus 24% to the business plan and plus 48% to the level of 2020.

The market capitalization of the company as of the beginning of December is 71.5 billion rubles, which is a result KAMAZ Group's record financial indicators over the past few years in 2020 and the 1st half of 2021.

KAMAZ PTC is still the top producer of trucks with GVW exceeding 14 tonnes, winning 47% of this market. At the same time, the share of tractors sold under the KAMAZ brand today exceeds 30%. The share grew thanks to the launch of the K4 and the latest K5 generation models.


KAMAZ PTC produces a variety of heavy vehicles: trucks (over 60 basic models, over 1,500 trim versions, right-hand drive vehicles), trailers, buses, engines, power units and various tools. KAMAZ has always been holding a strong position in the market of trucks with GVW from 14 to 40 tonnes. The vehicle line has in recent years expanded due to new models ranging from metropolitan delivery trucks to higher capacity vehicles for operation as part of road trains with GVW of up to 120 tonnes. In addition, the year 2018 saw a start of serial production of KAMAZ electric buses. In 2020, one of KAMAZ novelties entered the market. It was the KAMAZ-54901 freight truck, the first representative of the K5 generation vehicles. In 2021, the K5 line was expanded.


Designing competitive products in terms of quality benchmarks which meet customers’ requirements and expectations is the pivotal aim of KAMAZ PTC in the quality area and key to the Company’s and its employees’ financial well-being and sustainability.

This goal is stated in the Quality Policy of KAMAZ PTC fixing underlying principles from which the company's quality assurance activities are built.

The tool which enables KAMAZ PTC to achieve the goals the Company has committed itself to in the area of quality is the quality management system.

The quality management system of KAMAZ PTC has been recognized to conform to the requirements of international and Russian standards:

- ISO 9001:2015, GOST R ISO 9001-2015 in respect to design, development, production and sales of trucks, truck and bus chassis, vehicle components, spare parts and vehicle assembly sets, casts and die forgings, tools and accessories, truck maintenance.

- GOST RV 0015-002-2012 in respect to design, development, production, testing and sales of vehicles.

The Quality Management System of KAMAZ PTC embraces all stages of the product life-cycle from marketing and designing to maintenance of ready vehicles carried out by the manufacturer.

In 2011, КАМАZ was awarded the 5-star level in the European Competition EFQM per Recognized Excellence model, which is confirmed by the certificate; the Company has been put on the European Register of successful organizations.

In 2013, KAMAZ PTC won the 9th International Quality Tournament among the Central and Eastern European countries.

In 2015, KAMAZ PTC was awarded the diploma as one of contestants struggling for the Russian Government Quality Award. 

In 2019, KAMAZ PTC became the laureate of the competition for quality awards of the Russian Government.       


KAMAZ PTC has been running assembly operations in Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, India, Vietnam. 

Euro 6 KAMAZ vehicles are assembled at the assembly enterprise of Autobagi, Lithuania. 

The plant in Uzbekistan assembles diesel- and gas-powered KAMAZ vehicles from SKD supplied by KAMAZ PTC.

In September 2021, the first five vehicles of the new K5 generation – KAMAZ-54901 – were assembled at the KAMAZ-Engineering plant in the city of Kokshetau (Kazakhstan).

In addition, in the summer of 2021, in Kostanay, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Industrial Development Fund and KamLitKZ (part of KAMAZ Group) signed a number of key documents on the implementation of a new investment project to create production of auto components for the new K5 KAMAZ line in Kazakhstan.


Our customers are companies from all economic sectors wh ere trucks are used, haulers, regional and city truck fleets in Russia and countries of the Company’s historical presence, natural monopolies, major corporate clients, government run enterprises and institutions. Major users of KAMAZ products in this country are GAZPROM, LUKOIL, SUEK, ТNK and others.


KAMAZ PTC exports vehicles, SKD and CKD kits and spare parts to the CIS, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America. The export volume of KAMAZ PTC for 12 months of 2020 made 4,359 vehicles, SKD and CKD kits. Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Belarus, and Lithuania became the key export markets of KAMAZ PTC in 2020. More than 50 countries buy KAMAZ products. Besides, KAMAZ's market share in Kazakhstan increased from 35% to 42% last year.

For 11 months of 2021, KAMAZ exported 5,500 units of vehicles, SKD and CKD, which is 55% higher than the indicators of the same period of 2020. The main sales markets in 2021 are Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan.  


The sales and service network of KAMAZ PTC covers all the regions of Russia and the CIS, as well as the historical foreign markets. KAMAZ continues to actively expand its sales and service network in Russia and beyond its borders. 

As of October 1, 2021, the dealer network in the Russian Federation numbers 176 dealerships. These are 63 3S status dealers (truck sales, spare parts sales, service support), 34 2S status dealers of vehicles (truck sales and service support), 25 2S status dealers of spare parts (spare parts sales and service support), 36 1S status dealers (service support only), 18 distributors of spare parts sales.

Underlying the service system are the principles of uniform style and maximum approximation of aftermarket services to the customer. The service network deployment has been proceeding along the two lines: construction of new service centers and reconstruction of existing service stations. In the philosophy of its dealer relations, the Company swears by a special internal document called Manual for Dealers of KAMAZ PTC which lays down all the requirements as well as terms and conditions the dealers must live up to. Certification of dealerships and service stations, pursuant to the Manual for Dealers of KAMAZ PTC, allows uniform service format and better recognition of authorized dealers by customers to be ensured, the requirements relating to organization of the dealer’s key business processes to be formalized.

In 2020, five new dealer centers of KAMAZ PTC were built and commissioned in the cities of St. Petersburg, Naro-Fominsk, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Tver. All of them comply with the standards of the Manual for Dealers of KAMAZ PTC and the Guide to Corporate Identity of KAMAZ PTC.

Eight dealerships reconstructed their buildings and facilities in 2020. In general, the KAMAZ dealers invested about 700 million roubles in bringing them into compliance with the requirements of the Manual for Dealers in 2020.

In 2021, it is planned to commission six new dealerships that meet KAMAZ standards. Two of them have already started operation – in Bryansk and in Perm.

The dealer and service network of KAMAZ PTC abroad includes distributors and dealers selling vehicles and spare parts, as well as service centers, including: 66 entities in the CIS countries and 35 entities far abroad.


KAMAZ Leasing Company Inc. (KAMAZ-LEASING brand) is one of Russia’s largest leasing companies, a 100%-owned subsidiary of KAMAZ PTC which specializes in selling KAMAZ vehicles and special purpose vehicles based on KAMAZ chassis under the Leasing from the Manufacturer program.

КАМАZ-LEASING has been operating on the leasing market since 2002. It is a three time winner of the Company of the Year award, including, among others, the prize in the nomination For Financial Sustainability and Stability in the Leasing Services Market, and the honorary title Leader of Leasing, the winner of RUSSIAN LEASING AWARDS in 2017 and LEADER LEASING AWARDS in 2018. KAMAZ-Leasing Company is the laureate of the international award LEADER LEASING AWARDS-2019 in the nomination For Financial Sustainability and Stability in the Leasing Services Market, the winner of the annual contest Best Risk Management in Russia-2019 in the nomination Best Company Risk Management System, the laureate of the National Award in leasing Leasing Deal of the Year 2020. It is number one on the leasing market in the truck segment by version of Expert RA. The company is a member of the United Leasing Association. It takes part in all government programs to subsidize the industry.

Over the years of its work in the leasing market, KAMAZ-LEASING has sold more than 66 thousand units of vehicles. As of December 1, 2021, KAMAZ Leasing Company's lease portfolio is 72.8 billion rubles.

In 2021, the KAMAZ-master team turned thirty-three years old. It is still the only Russian factory team that successfully represents the country in the world motorsport. It is a multiple prizewinner and nineteen-time winner of the Dakar super marathon. KAMAZ-master is the world's top truck racing team.

The KAMAZ-master team, formed out of only KAMAZ racers, includes five World Cup winners, 16 Masters of Sports of International Class, 12 Honored Masters of Sports of Russia, 16 Masters of Sports. Vladimir Chagin, a seven-time winner of the Dakar rally, Master of Sports of International Class, Honored Master of Sports of Russia, is at the head of the racing team. KAMAZ confidently converts its winning Dakar track record into success of its business.

The beginning of the year was marked by the triumph of the KAMAZ-master team. Dmitry Sotnikov's, Anton Shibalov's and Airat Mardeev's crews took the first three places among trucks at the Dakar-2021 rally. Thus, the team became an 18-time winner of the most difficult international rally-marathon.

In 2021, KAMAZ brought to the market new models of vehicles of the K5 generation – the KAMAZ-65659 freight truck and two dump trucks – the KAMAZ-65951 (8x4) and KAMAZ-65952 (6x6) designed for transportation of various bulk cargo. Also, the largest Russian mining dump truck KAMAZ-65807 with GVW of 95 tonnes and payload of 65 tonnes was presented at the MiningWorld Russia-2021 exhibition.

Prototypes of R6 gas engines and vehicles (KAMAZ-54901 freight trucks) have been manufactured. KAMAZ-54901 freight trucks are equipped with cryogenic tanks for storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG), which provides a higher driving distance.

The main achievement in the development of the KAMAZ P6 diesel engine is the development of a version with a working volume of 13 liters.

In addition, in 2021, KAMAZ presented new items in the line of urban passenger electric transport: the articulated low-floor electric bus of an extra large class (an accordion bus) and the KAMAZ-65825 trolleybus with autonomous running increased to 20 km.

In April 2021, an assembly (finishing) production of KAMAZ electric buses was opened at the Sokolniki Car Repair and Construction Plant in Moscow. Already in June, the first specimens assembled at SVARZ started running on the metropolitan routes.

In May 2021, KAMAZ signed another contract for the supply of almost five hundred low-floor NEFAZ-5299-40-52 city buses for the needs of the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans. In addition, the company signed the fourth contract for the supply of 350 KAMAZ-6282 electric buses to Moscow. Under this agreement, electric buses assembled right in the Russian capital were delivered for the first time.

In June, a new frame production was launched at the press and frame plant in the presence of Aleksey Pesoshin, Prime Minister of Tatarstan, and members of the KAMAZ Board of Directors. By the end of the year, the production of frames for K5 generation vehicles will have been mastered there. After 2021, it is planned to start producing frames for the K4 generation. Later the new technology will be applied in the production of K3 generation frames. Production capacity is 65,000 frames per year.

A new world-level system of training qualified personnel has been implemented. Training has been removed from production processes, the fundamental types of training for workers are localized at new corporate training sites – at the MCPK (Multifunctional Center for Applied Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering), the Educational and Technological Complex. Due to this, all types of training are now as close as possible to the requirements of real production.

In 2021, KAMAZ engineers began to develop vehicles running on hydrogen. The first results of their work were presented at the Comtrans 2021 exhibition in Moscow. KAMAZ presented to the general public its first water tank – KAMAZ-6290. In addition, KAMAZ and GreenGT introduced the 44-tonne prototype of a 170 kW hydrogen fuel cell truck with two batteries 85 kW each.

In addition, the unique KAMAZ-6561 (Hercules) articulated dump truck, designed for autonomous quarrying, was shown for the first time. The K6 generation truck – KAMAZ-54907 (Continent) – became another outstanding novelty and one of the most attractive exhibits presented by KAMAZ at the Comtrans 2021 exhibition.


The Board of Directors approved the business plan of KAMAZ Group for 2022. The planned sales of trucks in 2022 will amount to 45 thousand units, of which 39 thousand vehicles will go to the Russian market, and 6 thousand vehicles will be exported. The plan for revenue is about 270 billion rubles. It is planned that the volume of investments in 2022 will amount to 17 billion rubles. Of these, 12.6 billion rubles will be allocated for the development of the model range, more than 1 billion for R&D.

The main goals of KAMAZ PTC for 2022 are:

  • to introduce to the market new models of the K5 generation with 4x2, 6x2, 6x4 and 6x6 wheel arrangements;

  • to expand the model range and localize medium-duty Compass vehicles;

  • to certify a line of Euro 6 trucks and engines;

  • to develop a model range of NGVs running on LNG and CNG;

  • to introduce new passenger transport means (buses and extra-large articulated electric buses).

The implementation of the long-term program for the production robotization will continue. Under this program, first of all, procurement productions wh ere "personnel shortage" is most felt will be robotized: Foundry, Forge and Press and Stamping Plants. Robotic technological complexes will be implemented in other production units, including the main assembly line and bus production.

Active work will continue in the field of creating unmanned trucks and trucks with ADAS. Of the most urgent, KAMAZ is introducing the ADAS driver assistance system on the 54901 freight truck. It is planned to test autonomous freight trucks on the M11 Moscow – St. Petersburg highway under the Mayak project.

Hydrogen transport will also be developed. In parallel with the development of vehicles, work is underway on KAMAZ fuel cells with a capacity of 40 to 200 kW. For this, it is planned to create a complex of laboratories (or a center for hydrogen technologies) base on the research and production center for electronics and batteries in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny.

Taking into account the growth in volumes and, accordingly, the growing rate of assembly in 2022, the company must increase labor productivity relative to the achieved indicators, so as not to reduce and systematically increase the rate of production. The goal for the 4th quarter of 2022 is 220 trucks per day.

KAMAZ PTC has never cooperated, is not cooperating now and will not cooperate in the future with persons, companies, countries which have UN sanctions imposed on them.
