Today, Engineering School has been officially opened at School 30 in Naberezhnye Chelny on the initiative of KAMAZ (part of Rostec State Corporation) and Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU-KAI).
Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ; Nail Magdeev, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny; Albert Gilmutdinov, Rector of KNRTU-KAI, and others attended the ceremony. A lot of interesting master classes, intellectual games, a sports relay race, professional tests and other cognitive activities were organized for the pupils of the new school.
"Young, intelligent and talented specialists are in high demand in the era of engineering personnel deficiency. Young people study to become lawyers, economists, managers, and only few of them are ready to choose an engineering profession," Sergey Kogogin said. "We should get children interested in engineering from an early age in order to increase the number of technicians. If a child is fond of robots, can hold a soldering iron and even work with microcircuits, he will surrely be a good student, and later an expert ready to work in any engineering area, including KAMAZ. That is why the company has always supported and will support such wonderful projects."
It should be recalled that, in May 2017, KAMAZ, KNRTU-KAI and School 30 concluded a cooperation agreement to establish an engineering school. Its main purpose is to help the pupils of School 30 choose a profession and teach them engineering and technology. The pupils of the two engineering classes will undergo not only the basic educational program, but also attend optional lessons of the core disciplines Practical Physics, Mathematical Training, Redcafe, Kompas 3D. To add to it, monthly meetings will be organized with lectors and professors of KNRTU-KAI who will tell the pupils about the history of engineering, the origin and development of technology, the principles of operation of various mechanisms, etc. Moreover, the young engineers will visit the Kvantorium children's industrial park, clubs Technical Modeling, School Design Bureau, visit KAMAZ's production sites, meet with representatives of Tatarstan's engineering elite during the academic year.
