Today, an evening function devoted to the Day of Victory over Fascism has been held for veterans of the Great Patriotic War on the initiative of KAMAZ PTC (part of Rostec state Corporation) in Naberezhnye Chelny.
This year, the format of the festive event changed: instead of the traditional evening, the veterans were shown a mini performance Tyorkin the scenario of which was based on poet and front-line soldier Aleksandr Tvardovsky's poem. It is noteworthy that only KAMAZ workers participated in the theatrical performance. Before the performance, the audience heard the company's director general Sergey Kogogin's address in which he heartily congratulated the veterans on the holiday and thanked them for their true grit. "The Great Patriotic War recedes further into the past. But, no matter how many years have passed, the 9th of May remains one of the most cherished holidays for us," Kogogin emphasized. "Fr om the bottom of my heart I wish you good health, happiness and family well-being. We bow to you for the peace you returned on our suffering land and the clear sky over our heads you presented us."
The evening function in KDK KAMAZ is one of multiple festive events. Various exhibitions and theme excursions were organized in KAMAZ's museum. Also, a competition of children's creativity devoted to the Victory Day was arranged among KAMAZ workers' children. Commemorative gifts and musical surprises were prepared at plants and in subdivisions wh ere the veterans worked.
Besides, under KAMAZ's Care program, the veterans received one-time financial aid of 2 thousand roubles, food gift baskets and vouchers for sanatorium clinic Naberezhnye Chelny from KAMAZ PTC. The total sum of financing allocated by KAMAZ for celebration of the Victory Day exceeded five billion roubles.
