KAMAZ INCREASED DAILY RATE

7 November 2017

In view of increasing figures of the 2017 business plan, KAMAZ PTC (part of Rostec State Corporation) accelerated the daily vehicle assembly.

According to Yury Gerasimov, Executive Director of KAMAZ PTC, the year turned out to be uneven. "For eight months 180 vehicles were assembled a day, and after the corporate leave in August the daily rate was 200 or 205 vehicles," he noted. "During the last two months, we will continue assembling 210 vehicles per day. About 30% of them are vehicles of the new lineup." It should be noted that, notwithstanding the boosted assembly rate, the automobile plant doesn't plan to engage workers from other units.

To add to this, Yury Gerasimov emphasized that not only the number of assembled vehicles was increased, but also the quality was raised: the range of new models (KAMAZ-5490, -6580) was expanded. The customer highly appreciated the new lineup of KAMAZ, which is proved by multiple orders in the Finance and Trading Company. "The conveyor assembles many trial models too," Gerasimov told. "This was a reasonable decision that enabled to identify all problems right at the assembly stage which are hard to notice at the pilot production of the R&D Center. Besides, this will help reduce the time of delivery of new models to the conveyor."
