KAMAZ-MASTER ORGANIZED TEST DRIVE OF RACING TRUCKS FOR THE MEDIA

12 October 2017

Within the press tour for the Russian media held in Naberezhnye Chelny, a test drive of KAMAZ-master racing trucks was carried out.

KAMAZ-master pilots Dmitry Sotnikov and Ayrat Mardeev arranged for the media representatives test races on the training track and demonstrated sports vehicles. Two KAMAZ-4326 racing trucks of different versions took part in the test drive. One of them is a new truck with a six-cylinder in-line engine with a capacity of 13 liters developed by the team in accordance with the new requirements to racing trucks for the Dakar rally. It is just this truck that the team will drive in the South American race in January next year. This is the first time when such an engine is installed in a cabover truck to comply with the Dakar regulations which the KAMAZ-master team must abide by since January 2019. The installation of such an engine entailed great changes both in the truck construction and exterior.

The second KAMAZ-4326 truck which the reporters of the leading federal, republican and city media were able to test drive is a truck with a 16-liter Liebherr engine.

Test runs were made at the team's training ground near the village of Tarlovka. This is a track similar to that of the rally raid – with lots of steep turns, jumps and bumps. Each of twenty journalists managed to feel like a full-fledged member of the crew by driving the racing truck on the extreme track and assessing the KAMAZ-master pilots' skills.
