'Mechanical Engineers' City. Beginning' Exhibition

An exhibition devoted to the 50th anniversary of the date when construction of KAMAZ (part of Rostec State Corporation) had been commenced was officially opened in the Picture Gallery of Nabereznhye Chelny. The exhibition was organized primarily by the Museum of the auto maker which offered exhibits for display.

Aleksandr Ushenin, Deputy Director General of KAMAZ PTC for HRM and Organizational Development, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He thanked KAMAZ's veterans who had built the plant and the city, mentioned tight ties between the auto maker and Naberezhnye Chelny, promised that cooperation between the Picture Gallery and KAMAZ's Museum wouldn't be restricted only to one exhibition. Elvira Nogmanova, Head of the Office for Culture Affairs of the City's Administration, stressed the same in her speech. 

The visitors of the opening ceremony at the Picture Gallery heard Raimonds Pauls' music from the film Long Road in the Dunes performed by saxophonist Denis Kudryavtsev, watched a music video assembled of historical documentary footage based on Yuri Vizbor's song about Naberezhnye Chelny, enjoyed a sketch in which actors played the parts of the builders of the plant and the city.

'Mechanical Engineers' City. Beginning (1969-1976)' is the first of three planned expositions. The triptych embraces the whole history of KAMAZ. The exhibition will last till September 10.
