QUALITY 2018 PROGRAM IS APPROVED AT KAMAZ

15 January 2018

KAMAZ approved the Quality 2018 program and Goals in Quality Assurance for the current year.

Sergey Kogogin, Director General of KAMAZ PTC, signed an order to improve operations in 2018 which, as usual, became the first document issued in the new year.

The same order approves Goals in Labour Protection, Industrial Safety, Environmental Protection, Quality Assurance and Lean Production for 2018. In the current year, KAMAZ intends to reduce the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles after three months in service (IPHV3mis) by 10%, the audit past assembly (APA) index by 10%, and the number of defects per vehicles (DPV) by 10% too. APA and DPV for advanced vehicles KAMAZ-6580, 65801, 65802, 65806, 65208, 6520 Luxe, 65201 Luxe are to be reduced by 20% and 30%, respectively. KAMAZ plans to increase sales of diversification products to the sum of RUB 8.36 bn and gain marginal revenue for diversification products to the tune of RUB 2.78 bn. It should be recalled that the Goals are set against the 2017 performance.

As for the operational results in 2017, for now the results of 11 months are known, according to which (year-over-year) DPV dropped by 42.8%, APA – by 54.3%, and losses due to rejects – by 20.6%. KVP groups revealing and solving problems with quality continue working at the company's all factories. Their activity enabled to save RUB 115.113 bn. Kaizen projects brought an economic effect of RUB 1,176 thous.

It should be recalled that last December it became known that KAMAZ had become a diploma winner of the Russian Quality Program and was given the right to use the nationwide similarly-named sign for product labeling.
