Sergey Kogogin, the company's Director General, himself inspected the first KAMAZ-5490 truck tractors assembled at the automobile plant of KAMAZ (part of Rostec State Corporation).
In the course of a visiting conference on quality, Sergey Kogogin listened to reports on features of the new truck. Such meetings are especially important in view of the launched large-scale project Transformation of Quality Management System.
The renewed truck will be updated in order to be easier to use in Russia. The modifications include a wheel arrangement increased by 200 mm for even load on axles, an enhanced front suspension with maintenance-free silent blocks instead of bushings and a flat upper part of back wings to avoid contact with a semitrailer.
KAMAZ plans to introduce the updated version of the KAMAZ-5490 truck tractor to the market already in the second quarter of 2017. The novelty will encapsulate the company's successful experience in truck production. The order has already been accepted – it is planned to start making 135 vehicles in April.
