For a great contribution to the creation of new equipment and in connection with the 50th anniversary of the construction of KAMAZ, the company's team was awarded the Gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Sergey Kogogin, CEO of KAMAZ, was awarded the high award by Sergey Chemezov, Director General of Rostec State Corporation, during the company's Board of Directors meeting on July 3.
The company celebrated its half-century anniversary in December 2019. The official date of the beginning of construction of the automobile giant on Kama is considered to be December 13, 1969, when the first bucket of earth was taken out on the site of the future grandiose construction. For 50 years of its history, KAMAZ has passed a unique path. Today it is the largest automobile Corporation of the Russian Federation, which produces trucks, passenger equipment and electric vehicles, and is one of the world's leading manufacturers.
KAMAZ produces more than 60 basic models and 1500 complete sets of trucks, which are widely used in the production of special equipment for many sectors of the economy. More than 130 manufacturers of special equipment cooperate with the company. KAMAZ has an extensive sales and service network that covers all regions of the Russian Federation and many CIS countries. KAMAZ trucks are operated in more than 80 countries around the world.
The anniversary year 2019 was one of the most significant in the history of the company. A new plant for the production of cab frames for KAMAZ and Mercedes-Benz trucks was opened, a new line for the production of aluminum fuel tanks was launched, and a number of other projects were implemented. The main production achievement of the year was the Assembly of the first KAMAZ-54901 truck, which opened a new line of K5 generation cars. This was the result of serious work of the team, which was conducted for several years.
Recall that on December 19, 1984, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, KAMAZ was awarded the order of Lenin for the great success achieved by the team of the automobile giant in fulfilling production plans and socialist obligations. Last December, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov awarded KAMAZ with the Order of «Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan».
