Today, on November 26, KAMAZ PTC together with UzAuto TRAILER company officially launched a new KAMAZ vehicle chassis assembly line in Samarkand. The ceremony was held within the framework of the working visit of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The participants of the event were welcomed by the Governor of Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of the Board of Uzavtosanoat JSC Shavkat Umurzakov, Director General of KAMAZ PTC Sergey Kogogin and Director General of UzAuto TRAILER LLC Alisher Khojibayev.
The new Assembly line is organized in a new production building, with a total area of 7.4 thousand sq. m. The line is equipped with modern technological and auxiliary equipment, allowing to ensure the production capacity of more than 3,000 units of trucks per year. There is also a section of assembly and installation of gas cylinder equipment on KAMAZ chassis.
The organization of the new Assembly line allowed to move to a deeper level of technology of KAMAZ chassis production, with the use of localized batteries, petrol, oil and lubricants, gas cylinders and other components of domestic production.
As part of the opening ceremony, the ceremony of awarding UzAuto TRAILER LLC with the certificate Hardoх in My Body in honor of the recognition of the quality of dump bodies produced at the plant was held. The certificate was presented by Johnny Siostrem, Vice-President of the Swedish company SSAB, which is a world leader in the production of high-strength steel under the well-known brands Strenx, Hardox, Docol, etc.
The event was continued by the signing ceremony of the founding documents on the establishment of the joint venture "KAMAZ ASIA LEASING" between UzAuto TRAILER LLC and KAMAZ Leasing company JSC. The authorized capital of the leasing company will be $5 million, of which $2.5 million - in the form of direct investments of the Russian side.
It is expected that the joint venture will offer a comprehensive product in the «one window» mode when purchasing KAMAZ vehicles for leasing, including insurance, installation of telematics equipment, etc., online service and a loyalty program will be launched.
Recall that in December 2017 at the facilities of UzAuto TRAILER LLC began large-node production of KAMAZ vehicles with a complete set of superstructures and semi-trailers produced by UzAuto TRAILER. In March 2018, a presentation of KAMAZ trucks produced in Uzbekistan was held. A few months later, the company began selling KAMAZ vehicles, and over the past period, the volume of production of finished vehicles on KAMAZ chassis amounted to more than 1 800 units. Today, the range of KAMAZ trucks produced at the plant exceeds more than 18 types of equipment with a load capacity from 10 to 36 tons.
