10 August 2017

Begishevo Airport, a subsidiary of KAMAZ PTC (part of Rostec State Corporation), entered the top 40 of Russian airports in terms of traffic volumes in January-June 2017. According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, Begishevo is 38th in the rating of Russian airports among 259 companies.

In the first half of 2017, passenger traffic of Nizhnekamsk's airport increased by 64% compared to the same period last year (y-oy-y) and amounted to 265,383 people. This is due to the resumption of charter flights to Turkey, as well as the opening of additional flights to Moscow. 231,409 passengers, which is by 67% more than for the same period last year, flew to the capital from Begishevo. Also the passenger flow to the resorts of Russia increased: to Simferopol (by 108%), Sochi (by 30%), and Anapa (by 7%).

With the support of the Ministry of Transport and Road Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, it became possible to expand the map of regional flights of the airport - flights to Perm, Samara and Nizhny Novgorod are currently being carried out on a regular basis.

The beginning of the second half-year was also successful for Begishevo: in July the airport served 60,546 passengers, almost by 90% more than last July. The freight turnover for the stated period more than doubled.
