Carting Competitions for KAMAZ PTC's Cup Took Place

The All-Russian carting competitions for the Cup of KAMAZ PTC (part of Rostec State Corporation) took place in Naberezhnye Chelny.

During two days, 65 young racers fr om 11 cities of Russia tried Chelny's track in order to show their driving skills. The participants competed in several classes depending on the cart model and the children's age – Micro, Mini, Super-Mini, Rotax-Max Junior, Rotax-Max, KZ-2. Besides, the KAMAZ-master Junior team which included 12 people aged from 7 to 24 was presented to the audience for the first time. Chelny's racers will present the auto city in various interregional and all-Russian competitions.

The severest competition for KAMAZ's Cup unfolded in Classes Mini and Super-Mini. Venturesome 8-11-year-old sportsmen demonstrated not only virtuoso driving skills, but also an ability to make reasonable tactical choices. Class Micro was presented by eight children the youngest of which hasn't turned 7 yet. Tender years weren't an obstacle for the participants to show a spectacular struggle on the track. A very interesting race was in Class Rotax-Max Junior wh ere two young girls struggled for the podium alongside with boys. One of the young ladies received the Fastest Girl award and ranked fifth in this class.     

KAMAZ-master Junior 2 Team and KAMAZ-master Junior 1 Team became first and second in the general standings, respectively. Third place went to Cart-Club Shmel (Urussu Village). All prize-winners were handed commemorative cups, medals and valuable gifts. "I'm very glad that we all received the two-day sports festival, saw the intense fight, though the sports cars were driven by the very young pilots," noted the head of the KAMAZ-master team Vladimir Chagin. "The best of the best won in our competitions, but I consider anyway that everyone is the winner: carting won, motor racing won, friendship won."
