DENIS MATSUEV GAVE A CONCERT IN NABEREZHNYE CHELNY

11 April 2018

Yesterday, People's Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev finished his visit to Naberezhnye Chelny with a big concert in the Organ Hall.

The famous piano virtuoso's visit to Naberezhnye Chelny with the assistance of KAMAZ and personally the company's head Sergey Kogogin has already become a good tradition. But, unlike previous visits, this time Denis Matsuev arrived in this city together with professors of the Gnessin State Musical College, the Moscow Conservatory and Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov. For two days, piano, accordion, saxophone, painting and drawing tutors gave master classes to gifted children from Naberezhnye Chelny and surrounding regions.

After the classes, the teachers had named four students of art school who were handed grants from Novye Imena (New Names) Foundation supporting young talents on the stage of the Organ Hall in the evening. Awarding the winners, Denis Matsuev noted that it was unique for the Foundation when four grant-holders at once had been chosen from one city. "I'm pleased that our debut turned out to be exciting and notable," he said. "I'm grateful to Sergey Anatolyevich Kogogin who realizes that young talents can't develop without support. Thanks to KAMAZ these children got an opportunity to visit our Summer School in Suzdal, connect with the high art and become full-fledged members of the big family of Novye Imena (New Names) Foundation.

Sergey Kogogin congratulated the young talents having noted that they deserved the right to receive grants thanks to their efforts, intelligence and talent. "I'm glad that we offered such an opportunity to our children. I believe that this is an important event for our city, and I'm very happy about that. Congratulations to the children. And, of course, we thank the teachers who found and supported these talents."

The evening was crowned with a performance of traditional jazz and improvisations on classical themes. The winners of the annual TV-contest for children Sinaya Ptitsa (The Blue Bird) also participated in the concert together with the maestro and his colleagues. Finishing his performance, Denis Matsuev promised to come back to Naberezhnye Chelny in order to please music lovers and open up new names to the world once again.
