General Director of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin visited Myanmar as a member of a delegation led by the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
As part of the working trip, meetings were held with the heads of a number of departments, prospects for the development of cooperation were discussed. Also, the head of KAMAZ and the top officials of the republic took part in a round table with representatives of Myanmar business circles. A presentation on the industrial potential of Tatarstan was made by Albert Karimov, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Tatarstan has been actively cooperating with this Asian country since 2013. Among the Tatarstan enterprises that have established cooperation with Myanmar is KAMAZ PTC. The top Russian truck manufacturer supplies tractors and flatbed trucks to the partners.
“Today's meeting was arranged mainly thanks to the personal participation of the officials of Myanmar and the Republic of Tatarstan. We were glad to receive the Myanmar delegation at our plant last June: the representatives of the country got acquainted with the capacities of KAMAZ and highly appreciated the technical characteristics of our trucks. This visit to Myanmar can be safely considered a new page in the long-term cooperation of our enterprise with the Asian partners. We have laid a course for the further development of friendly relations,” commented Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ.
As part of the work program of the current visit, the group of KAMAZ specialists held a number of productive meetings and negotiations with the representatives of Myanmar’s government departments interested in the supply of products. The meetings followed earlier negotiations and presentations that the working groups had held via videoconference. Sergey Kogogin expressed confidence that this work will strengthen the unification of the potentials of the two countries and make a significant contribution to the development of Russian-Myanmar relations.
