13 November 2017

KAMAZ became one of locations for the German ZDF TV channel’s documentary video piece titled Russlands eisige Trasse. 10 000 Kilometer auf der Transkontinentalen. 10 Jahre danach.

The TV crew included reporter of the ZDF TV channel (Germany’s second TV channel) Britta Hilpert, cameraman Marko Lakomy, sound engineer Christian Reuter, and others.  Filming took place at the automobile plant of KAMAZ, at the joint venture DAIMLER KAMAZ RUS, and also at the premises of a new cab frame plant.  The German journalists interviewed Firdaus Kabirov, Deputy Director for Innovative Products Development; Oleg Afanasiev, Press Secretary of KAMAZ PTC; Jürgen Olberding, COO of DK RUS JV.

Filming the documentary Russlands eisige Trasse. 10 000 Kilometer auf der Transkontinentalen. 10 Jahre danach, reporters Britta Hilpert and Winand Wernicke are following the same way from Moscow to Vladivostok their colleagues had traveled ten years ago. The film will tell about changes Russia has faced for these years. This will be shown through stories and fates of the heroes and large projects the previous film was about.  One of the heroes is legendary KAMAZ-master pilot Firdaus Kabirov. ZDF's audience will learn about his career in motorsport and work at KAMAZ from the documentary.

The film is expected to be broadcast by ZDF on the third of January next year.
