HANDS-ON TRAINING FOR STUDENTS AT FORGE PLANT

12 April 2018

Engineering technologists of the forge plant of KAMAZ conducted a hands-on training Pressing and Die-Forging Technique for students of Kazan Federal University's Branch in Naberezhnye Chelny.

Fifteen fourth-year students of KFU's Branch in Naberezhnye Chelny visited the buildings of the forge plant and got acquainted with the pressing and die-forging technique. "Theory is one thing, and practice is something quite different," stressed Rim Kuzhagildin, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, accompanying the students. "If the guys didn't see equipment, production, then how can they decide what path to choose: to become masters, technologists, designers? There is no distribution now, but the task is that graduates should work within their specialty."

It is noteworthy that some students learning the ropes of metal treatment under pressure already work at KAMAZ. "In the fourth year of study we were given an opportunity to combine work and study, and I found myself in the Research and Development Center, in the project Reengineering of Vehicle Production," told Lilia Salakhova. "Being an engineering technologist, I'm now developing technical processes for cab frame details for K5 vehicles."
