KAMAZ Announces 2016 IFRS Financial Results

Consolidated proceeds of KAMAZ Group (part of Rostec State Corporation) for 12 months of 2016 are by 37% higher than for the same of last year and made up 133,540 million roubles.

KAMAZ sold 34,432 trucks on domestic and foreign markets, which is by 16% more than in 2015 when 29,704 pcs were sold. The share of KAMAZ PTC on the Russian truck market with GVW over 14 tonnes (with account of only registered vehicles) totalled 56% as of the end of 2016 (51% in 2015). 

Truck sales volumes were increased also due to the roll-out of new generation KAMAZ vehicles, the efficient use of client financing tools, a flexible pricing policy. Measures were taken to substitute imported vehicle components, increase labour productivity, save costs, improve the effectiveness of financial management.    

As a result of efficient activities in 2016, the company earned a net profit in the amount of RUB 656 mln (the year 2015 saw a net loss of RUB 2,383 mln). EBITDA for the specified period made up RUB 154 mln (RUB 2,512 mln in 2015). In 2016, EBITDA margin reached 4.6% against 2.6% in the previous year. An increase in revenues and effective cost control ensured a positive operational cash flow of RUB 5,853 mln (RUB 43 mln in 2015).  

Owing to the further development of priority investment programmes, a net financial debt increased by 37% y-o-y and made up RUB 22,482 mln. The growth is conditioned partially by the placement of 15-year-old bonds of KAMAZ PTC for long-term financing of investment projects.

During the year, the company continued implementing programmes for production reengineering and development of a new model range. Consequently, RUB 8.2 bln or 6.1% of proceeds (RUB 6 bln and 6.1% in 2015, respectively) were allocated in order to modernize production and introduce new technologies.
