KAMAZ AT SPBTRANSPORTFEST-2022

20 May 2022

For the second year in a row, KAMAZ takes part in the international transport festival SPbTransportFest, which is taking place in St. Petersburg on these days.

The III International Transport Festival SPbTransportFest is timed to coincide with the Foundation Day of St. Petersburg and brings together the brightest events in the transport industry: an international professional skill competition for bus drivers, an exhibition of innovative transport means, a parade and an exhibition of vintage vehicles, as well as a business and cultural program. Within the framework of the exhibition of innovative vehicles, KAMAZ presented two models from a wide range of passenger vehicles – the NEFAZ 5299-40-57 bus running on liquefied natural gas and the KAMAZ-62825 trolleybus with increased autonomous running.

The KAMAZ-62825 trolleybus is a development of the KAMAZ electric transport lineup. Unlike the classic trolleybus, this vehicle is equipped with energy storage devices that allow autonomous movement of up to 20 km, for example, to serve new urban areas that do not have a contact network. This enables to expand the route network, change it flexibly and reduce infrastructure costs. The batteries are charged while driving from the contact network in 30 minutes to 100% capacity.

The KAMAZ-62825 trolleybus meets all the requirements for the quality of services provided, the comfort of passengers and the accessible environment: a low floor level, an enlarged middle door opening, a spacious storage area with soft stops for standing passengers, comfortable air suspension, a kneeling system that allows you to tilt the trolleybus body for comfortable picking up and dropping off passengers, a mechanical ramp for unhindered boarding of passengers with limited mobility, a special place for attaching a wheelchair, buttons for communication with the driver.

It is also equipped with a passenger information system, video surveillance cameras and satellite navigation, a climate control system, USB sockets for charging phones, and advanced telematics equipment. The total passenger capacity is 85 people, including 34 seats.

The new modification of the NEFAZ 5299-40-57 bus running on liquefied natural gas (LNG) has retained all the advantages of the core model: a low floor level, an enlarged middle door opening, a spacious storage area, a kneeling system that allows you to tilt the bus body for convenient boarding and disembarking of passengers.

NEFAZ 5299-40-57 LNG fully complies with the "Accessible Environment" program: the bus has a mechanical ramp for unhindered boarding of passengers with limited mobility, a special place for attaching a wheelchair, and communication buttons with the driver. The bus is equipped with a portal axle, independent front suspension, automatic transmission, gas engine. Passenger capacity of the bus is 102 people, with 26 seats. The entry-level bus also includes electronic destination signs, an air-suspended driver's seat, an automatic fire extinguishing system, an ERA-GLONASS emergency call system, heated rear-view mirrors.

A distinctive feature of the NEFAZ-5299 LNG bus is the fuel storage system – methane. A cryotank with a capacity of 350 liters is located in the rear overhang of the bus. The applied technologies allow gas to be stored at a temperature of minus 160 degrees Celsius, regardless of the ambient temperature. The volume of the cryotank is optimal for the operation of the bus in urban mode and provides a range of more than 300 km on one gas filling.

The production of a wide range of passenger and cargo vehicles running on natural gas is KAMAZ's contribution to environmental protection. In addition, the use of methane, one of the most environmentally friendly and economical types of motor fuel, can significantly reduce fuel costs compared to buses and trucks running on diesel fuel.
