KAMAZ at the SPIGF-2017

10 October 2017

The delegation of KAMAZ (part of Rostec State Corporation) took part in the VII International Gas Forum (SPIGF-2017) which took place within the framework of the Russian Energy Week in St. Petersburg.

The gas-diesel KAMAZ-4308, the gas-powered KAMAZ-master racing truck, the production gas engine made by KAMAZ and the mobile gas filling mini-station were presented at the forum.

Experts from all over the world met at the SPIGF-2017 to discuss the problems of using gas engine fuel and share experience. According to Yevgeny Pronin, Director for Gas-Engine Vehicles at KAMAZ PTC, who was a member of the KAMAZ delegation at the gas forum, participation in such events is extremely important in view of the fact that this branch requires comprehensive approaches, including state support, legal environment, promotion and localization. The forum was held on the same day with the finish of the Blue Corridor rally in which KAMAZ-65117 running on liquefied natural gas took part.

Natural gas is becoming a real alternative to traditional types of fuel in Russia. There are about five thousand gas-powered KAMAZ vehicles successfully operated in Russia, more than 50 service centers of the company are certified to maintain NGVs.
