15 March 2018

The official market launch of KAMAZ vehicles in the RSA was announced at the largest international exhibition of construction, mining and road-building vehicles Bauma CONEXPO AFRICA-2018 being held in Johannesburg on these days.

KAMAZ for the first time participated in Bauma CONEXPO AFRICA which usually attracts visitors from about one hundred countries. This year, the exhibition has already demonstrated more than 500 exhibits and about 20 thous. visitors, including delegations from Botswana, Chile, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria and Zambia. KAMAZ is taking part in the exhibition together with its official distributor in Africa – BELL EQUIPMENT. In the presence of Deputy Director General of KAMAZ for Sales and Service Sergey Afanasiev, the official market launch of KAMAZ trucks in the RSA was announced. Would-be customers are offered RHD dump trucks with 400hp engines: a KAMAZ-6520-63 (6x4), a KAMAZ-65201-63 (8x4), a KAMAZ-65222-63 (6x6), and also a 15-tonne dump truck KAMAZ-65115-78 with a 285hp engine. All these vehicles are equipped with tipping bodies produced by NEFAZ, KAMAZ PTC's subsidiary, and demonstrated at the KAMAZ exhibition stand. The visitors can also see a legendary racing truck of the KAMAZ-master team.

It is noteworthy that various dumpers are highly popular in the country because there are many different types of minerals in the RSA. This is why RHD dumpers are the first KAMAZ trucks to enter African markets. KAMAZ's warehouse of trucks and spare parts will soon be opened in the region. Besides, the auto maker and BELL Equipment offer clients a warranty for dump trucks extended to two years and a full service package. It actually means that KAMAZ is entering large and promising markets of the African continent. The company plans to further expand its presence: KAMAZ vehicles will be presented at authorized dealerships of BELL in 12 African countries, including Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mauritius, Madagascar, etc.

It should be recalled that four restyled dump trucks KAMAZ-6520, -65201, -65115 were shipped to the RSA in 2016 for testing. In January 2018, KAMAZ delivered 54 dump trucks to the country. During this year, no less than one hundred complete KAMAZ trucks will be shipped to the RSA, and the company plans to export no less than 300 trucks a year from 2019, with a possible increase in supply volumes.
