KAMAZ Is Preparing for the COMTRANS-2017 Exhibition

11 April 2017

KAMAZ PTC (part of Rostec State Corporation) will traditionally take an active part in the international exhibition of commercial vehicles COMTRANS-2017 which will be held in Moscow on September 4-9.

The leader of the Russian truck production will demonstrate new commercial vehicles, including a KAMAZ-65208 van, KAMAZ-65209 and KAMAZ-5490 NEO bolster-type tractors, a KAMAZ-6580 dump truck with a heated platform, a KAMAZ-53198 electric vehicle, a KAMAZ-6282 electrobus. Racing trucks of the famous KAMAZ-master team with a conventional version will also be shown.

KAMAZ-65208 is the company's new product with a 6x2 wheel arrangement and a rear lift axle. The vehicle is of great interest both to large retailers and regional trade networks delivering foodstuff directly to shops. It is equipped with a comfortable spacious cab with one berth, a low-consumption reliable Mercedes-Benz OM457LA engine, a ZF automated gearbox. The peculiar feature of the new model is a rear lift axle. Depending on load, it can lower to the ground taking a considerable part of load or go up saving fuel, protecting tires from wear and tear, and enhancing manoeuvrability. The vehicle is designed to distribute load on axles reasonably staying within the required axle load limits, which is the most effective use of a lifting capacity. The vehicle has an insulated van with a capacity of 19 europallets, can be completed with modern refrigerators, and also a tail lift for convenient loading and unloading.

One of the most popular exhibits of the past COMTRANS – KAMAZ-5490 truck – will be replaced with a renewed truck tractor with an extension NEO this year. Taking into account experience and customers' feedback, the plant upgraded the vehicle in order to make it more efficient and useful. In the first run, the key task was to increase the weight of transported cargoes without exceeding permissible axle loads. Modernized chassis components are now more rigid and low-maintenance, and serve much longer. The new version of the flagship of KAMAZ's new model lineup – the KAMAZ-5490 NEO – is expected to enter the market for this year.

NEFAZ PTC, KAMAZ's daughter enterprise in Bashkiria, will present its passenger transport units. These are a NEFAZ-5299 bus with renewed exterior and interior, a KAMAZ-6282 electrobus, and other models. There will be something special among the exhibits – a small-class Bravis city bus made by KAMAZ-Marco Russian-Brazilian Joint Venture.

The COMTRANS-2017 exhibition offers a vast business programme embracing various types of events: conferences, workshops, round-table meetings.
