KAMAZ PRESENTED VEHICLES ASSEMBLED IN UZBEKISTAN

Presentation of KAMAZ trucks of Uzbek assembly was held in Tashkent. The event is organized by KAMAZ PTC jointly with the partner – the leading machine building enterprise of the republic Uzavtosanoat JSC.

Sergey Kogogin, Director General of KAMAZ PTC, representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Uzbekistan, ministries, administrative entities of Uzbekistan, and also top managers and business partners of Uzavtosanoat JSC and its subsidiary UZAUTOTRAILER took part in the presentation ceremony which took place at the Uzexpocenter National Exhibition Complex.

The production of KAMAZ vehicles was started at the production facilities of UZAUTOTRAILER located in the city of Jambai, Samarqand Region. The launch of the new production of trucks in the Republic of Uzbekistan is the result of a cooperation contract signed by the parties in November 2017. KAMAZ PTC and Uzavtosanoat JSC are cooperating via KAMAZ International Trade Company (VTK) JSC and UZAUTOTRAILER LLC, respectively. According to the reached agreement, VTK KAMAZ supplies assembly kits and components to UzAutoTrailer which is to assemble chassis, and also to install superstructures of the domestic and joint production.

"Our cooperation with Uzbekistan is rising to a new level and opening a new facet of development – we are working on the opening of the joint venture to assemble vehicles on the territory of the republic," said Sergey Kogogin, Director General of KAMAZ PTC, at the presentation. "And today we've got an opportunity to assess the first result of the joint project which offers us great opportunities: the vehicles are assembled and are ready to join the fleet of enterprises promoting the development of various industries of Uzbekistan." Kogogin also noted that the company laid hopes on cooperation extension, because this afforded good opportunity to join the potential of two countries and entry to markets of third countries with a competitive product.

"The launch of production of KAMAZ trucks at the premises of our plant is a new stage in the company's development, and also another important step within cooperation in high-tech areas between Uzbekistan and Russia," said Alisher Khadzhibaev, Director General of UzAutoTrailer. "Together with KAMAZ we are developing a separate strategy in organizariobn of a full-fledged dealer and service network in all regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and also entry of products into foreign markets. I believe that these trucks will show their excellent performance not only on roads of Uzbekistan, but also on roads of our good neighbors and other partner countries."

Under the contract for arrangement of assembly in Uzbekistan, the top Russian truck producer has already delivered 100 assembly kits for KAMAZ truck production in the republic. In the course of the presentation of jointly produced KAMAZ vehicles, dump trucks of various payload, truck tractors, special vehicles, container trucks and other vehicles were demonstrated. One of the latest models by the largest Russian truck maker – KAMAZ-5490 – was also shown.

For now, the lineup of KAMAZ trucks assembled at UzAutoTrailer consists of 11 types of vehicles with carrying capacity ranging fr om 10 to 36 tonnes. In 2018, the partners plan to launch on the market about 1,500 vehicles, including gas-engine trucks. The expected productive capacity of the plant is 2,000 vehicles a year with a possible increase to 5,000 units. The final joint product will be sold on the inner market of Uzbekistan and on export markets via a distributor and its dealership network established by the parties.

Besides, the joint venture will also render maintenance services via the network of vehicle centers in the largest cities. One of the most important areas of the joint activity wh ere KAMAZ's experience will be in demand is training of technical experts in vehicle maintenance in a new educational center.
