KAMAZ SIGNED SPECIAL INVESTMENT CONTRACT

Today, on May 25, KAMAZ PTC and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the RF have signed a special investment contract (SPIC) at the 2018 Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The matter is about a document on the development of KAMAZ's lineup of vehicles and modernization of capacities for their production. This contract worth 46.5 billion rubles will enable to arrange high-tech compact and energy-efficient annual production of 55-60 thous. up-to-date commercial trucks at existing premises. And KAMAZ is to invest 38.6 billion rubles.

This SPIC stipulates production of new R6 engines and side members. The contract implementation period lasts 10 years.

"Special investment contracts have become a key tool to attract investments in real production. This mechanism appeared in due time," noted Vasily Osmakov, Deputy Head of Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade. "Special investment contracts are unique because they have an impact on all key areas of our industrial policy – from stimulation of localization, technological modernization and export development to import substitution, technology transfer and creation of new promising sectors."
