New Air-Handling Plant for KAMAZ Foundry

7 June 2017

A new air-handling plant is mounted at the foundry of KAMAZ PTC (part of Rostec State Corporation).

The modern aspirating (purifying) equipment was installed in a precision steel casting shop next to shot-blasting machines. A one-stage cleaning system had been working there for a long time. The new installation has two purifying stages, however it consumes the same amount of energy as its predecessor.

The equipment was made in OOO KAMAZenergoremont. The producer guarantees 99.9% air purification and energy efficiency. Currently environmentalists are waiting for the results of the first analysis. Previously, the air composition there didn't exceed black iron oxide and inorganic dust limits either, and from now on the air will be even cleaner.

The foundry is thoroughly controlled by KAMAZ ecology experts: environmental protection issues are the focus of complicated metallurgical production. "Every year we replace outdated air-handling systems for new, more effective ones at the plant," explained chief expert of the department of industrial safety and ecology Nikolay Grishin. "Air emissions will be less hazardous at the piston ring shop too."
