NEW CHAIRMAN OF KAMAZ TRADE UNION IS ELECTED

Today, on August 10, the XVI unscheduled conference of the Unified Shop-Floor Trade Union Organization of KAMAZ PTC was held in the conference hall of the press and stamping plant to elect the new chairman of the union. Votes were given to Ildar Shamilov previously occupying the post of Deputy General Director of KAMAZ PTC for Security.

The event was held with participation of First Deputy General Director of KAMAZ PTC – Executive Director Yury Gerasimov, Chairman of the Russian Automobile and Agricultural Machinery Workers' Union Andrey Fefelov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan Tatyana Vasilyeva.

The conference was opened by Acting Chairman of the Trade Union Ilnar Mukhametshin. He noted that the Shop-Floor Trade Union Organization of KAMAZ PTC numbered 38,417 members, 450 delegates had been elected for the conference, 393 representatives of plants and subdivisions of the auto giant had been registered.

In all, there were four issues on the agenda of the conference, the main of which is to elect the new chairman of the trade union of the auto giant. The committee considering candidates for the chairman of KAMAZ’s union approved only one candidate – member of the union, Deputy General Director of KAMAZ PTC for Security Ildar Shamilov.

Via open ballot, the delegates of the conference unanimously elected Ildar Shamilov Chairman of the Trade Union of KAMAZ. In his address, the new trade union leader expressed gratitude to the staff of the auto giant which had entrusted him with working on this responsible post.

“Thank you for support and trust. We will continue working together to keep prosperity of the company for everybody’s benefit,” said Ildar Shamilov.

Congratulating the newly elected chairman of the trade union of KAMAZ, First Deputy General Director of KAMAZ PTC – Executive Director Yury Gerasimov noted that the new position is even more responsible because it has influence on the whole staff of the company. He also wished all trade union members further fruitful work for the good of the plant and KAMAZ people.
