Director General of KAMAZ (part of Rostec State Corporation) Sergey Kogogin examined the Quality Transformation project at the Press and Stamping Plant.
During the meeting, Director of the PSP Alexandr Rybakov presented a pilot project of Painting Shop #2. According to him, 70% of vehicle exterior is consited of items painted there, at two painting lines where more than 125 people are working. The range includes 6300 items. And under the project, measures are taken to reduce defects, introduce multiple changes both in technology and process arrangement. Each of these methods is already bringing tangible results. For instance, the changed apron scheme on a dual-duty overhead conveyor helped to eliminate defects entirely.
The next to introduce is an E2E principle of "two touch" delivery of details from the PSP to a customer, the automobile plant. In order to minimize defects by transportation, 267 positions were defined. The main routes for 134 items have already been determined. Also, Sergey Kogogin visited painting, cab assembly and welding, big die stamping, small batch shops. "Everyday attention to quality problems is effective", emphasized he in the course of the meeting.
