The representatives of Tirsan Kardan (Turkey) and Tirsan Kardan Ltd (Naberezhnye Chelny) visited the forge plant of KAMAZ (part of Rostec State Corporation).
The delegation included Cem Tarsus, Quality Manager at Tirsan Kardan; Orcun Orhan, Operational Director; Ismail Aliyev, General Manager of Tirkan Kardan Ltd; and others. Aleksandr Kalashnikov, Director of the Forge Plant; Andrey Kuptsov, Commercial Director; and Viktor Martyugin, Chief Technologist, participated In the negotiations on the part of the forge plant.
According to the requirements existing in the Turkish company, only forged products fr om cardan components are used. Therefore, during the tour of the forge plant, the Turkish manufacturers took an interest in the arrangement of business processes, their control and execution, the quality of products, the technologies used. The guests visited the stamping and tool building where machining attachments are produced, visited the central factory laboratory which controls and analyzes the quality of metal, saw wh ere and how raw materials are stored in the metal cutting shop, and also toured the forging and pressing facility. The forge plant will later face a deeper technical audit that will allow the Turkish side to consider the forge plant not only as a potential supplier of components for assembly of cardan shafts at the future JV Tirsan-Kama, but also as a direct supplier.
It should be recalled that in August KAMAZ and Tirsan Kardan signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture for the production of cardan shafts in Russia. The joint venture will be called Tirsan-Kama, and its purpose is to produce and deliver cardan shafts to conveyors of commercial vehicles in the Russian Federation and the CIS.
