The First NEFAZ Trolleybus on Ufa's Roads

30 May 2017

The first trolleybus made in NEFAZ PTC, KAMAZ's subsidiary in Bashkiria, was presented in Ufa.

The new trolleybus is a joint project of NEFAZ PTC and Ufa Tram and Trolleybus Plant (UTTP). The rigid framed body equipped with a reliable suspension and steering is manufactured at Neftekamsk's automobile plant, the electrical equipment is installed at UTTP.

The orange colour was chosen to paint the body of the new trolleybus not by chance: the bright vehicle will be visible on roads. The trolleybus is equipped with the latest, reliable and easy-to-use equipment. The body is zinc-galvanized and heavy-duty. The passenger compartment and the driver's cabin feature heating elements. The steering wheel is hydraulic power, the drive is asynchronous. The floor level is standard – medium. The passenger capacity is 112 people, the number of seats is 26.

NEFAZ's experts together with partners have been developing and manufacturing the first sample from the new line-up of products for seven months. This model is basic, and it can be completed. Thus, with additional power blocks installed, the trolleybus can travel up to 50 kilometers autonomously. With a platform unified with a NEFAZ bus, many details are interchangeable, and therefore always available, which will make it easier to operate and repair the vehicle.

Trolleybuses made jointly by NEFAZ PTC and UTTP differ from other models on the Russian market not only in end-user performance, but also in a price, which is an important advantage. The new medium-floor trolleybus is several million roubles cheaper than other models in Russia, so there is a great opportunity to renew trolleybus fleets of Ufa and other cities for less money.

There is already an order for 80 vehicles. These are mostly regions of Central Russia that are interested in the new trolleybuses.

The trolleybuses will appear on the roads of Ufa after certification. It is planned that the residents of the Bashkir capital will be able to assess NEFAZ's novelty in operation in August.
