YOUTH PROJECT IS IMPLEMENTED AT REPAIR AND INSTRUMENT PLANT

13 February 2018

Under the youth project, experts of the repair and instrument plant developed and implemented a new technology of transformator repair, which enabled to save money, improve safety and raise quality.

Previously, "cement" consisting of four components, half of them contained a great amount of hazardous substances, was used to insulate conductive circuits at the repair and instrument plant. By mixing components, one had to take into account their exact proportion, and the operation itself demanded great care. Besides, when more than two kilograms were mixed together, the composition sharply boiled, and it took much time to harden it, and there was a risk of cracks on the surface.

The team of young KAMAZ workers suggested using Elasteks-602 polyurethane compound for insulation of conductive circuits. It consists of only two harmless components – polyester and hardener mixed 1:3.

A prototype underwent hydraulic and electrical tests perfectly well. The project team agreed the use of the new material and labor saving with the top managers of the engineering center. The Elasteks-602 compound turned to be an adequate and modern alternative to the material used for insulation of conductive circuits before. The coordination council highly appreciated its introduction at the repair and instrument plant and suggested sharing the positive experience with other plants of KAMAZ.
