In Astrakhan first exclusive presentation of Africa Eco Race 2016 marathon took place, to carry out of which ideologist and the head of race Jean-Louis Schlesser has come.
The well-known racer disclosed interesting details of the forthcoming African marathon. Besides official race time fence – from December 27, 2015 to January 10, 2016, the new place of start – the Principality of Monaco was declared. As Jean-Louis noted, Monaco annually hosts such sports events as the Monaco Grand Prix, rally of Monte-Carlo, and since 2016 – Africa Eco Race marathon via Monaco-Dakar. And among other things it became clear that the prince of Monaco Albert and Schlesser are friends for many years.
Establishment of a special trophy for 'Desert Truck Master' trucks category, in addition to the main classification as well as new category of low-tonnage trucks introduction will become the second interesting innovation of organizers. As envisioned by Jean-Louis it will allow not only to develop and attract new truck teams as participants, but also will make the African continent the meeting place of the best pilots in the category T4.
We remind that previous Africa Eco Race winners in trucks category became two Russian crews on KAMAZ trucks.
