KAMAZ AT THE CIPR 2022 CONFERENCE

6 June 2022

General Director of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin took part in the conference Digital Industry of Industrial Russia held in Nizhny Novgorod.

The exhibition of the latest engineering technologies of Russian companies organized as part of the forum was attended by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maksut Shadayev, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of digital transformation Dmitry Chernyshenko and others.

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation was presented with the digital transformation strategy of KAMAZ which gives the company an opportunity to sell its products and provide customers with a full-cycle service model. Mikhail Mishustin noted that KAMAZ is one of the leaders in the industry which is expected to introduce developments. He set the task before Sergey Kogogin to create a domestic computer-aided design (CAD) system which could be used for new productions in the future.

“We need to make a platform. And it should be made not by virtual developers who have never seen a factory, robots, assembly. It's not about that. We are talking about industrial automation, about the most serious computer-aided design system which we can later use for other new industries,” said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin addressing the head of KAMAZ.

Sergey Kogogin, in his turn, assured that the auto giant is already holding appropriate consultations with the United Aircraft Corporation, the United Shipbuilding Corporation and Transmashholding.

Sergey Kogogin spoke at the plenary session about the development of digital systems at KAMAZ and noted that defense industry enterprises should work as one team in order to create and introduce the domestic CAD. Phasing out imports used in production is a “team marathon”, according to General Director of KAMAZ PTC. “We are obliged to implement this within a period of five to seven years, otherwise we simply have no future. Yes, the development of these complex systems is a team marathon, there is no other way,” Kogogin said.

Director of KAMAZ Digital Transformation Center Eldar Shavaliyev and specialists of KAMAZ DIGITAL reported on the progress of projects in the field of implementation of domestic MES-level systems and simulation modeling.
