KAMAZ TO FINANCE FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF DIP MASTER

5 July 2022

Yesterday, on July 4, on the sidelines of the industrial exhibition Innoprom in Yekaterinburg, General Director of KAMAZ PTC Sergey Kogogin and Governor of Ulyanovsk Oblast Aleksey Russkikh signed a road map for further development of Dimitrovgrad Industrial Site.

During the business meeting, the parties discussed future joint measures to develop DIP Master and the industrial park DAAZ. “Our goal is to put in order the Dimitrovgrad site to locate new businesses here. We are working now to make this place, in a certain way, a Russian competence center for auto components. Besides, KAMAZ wants to transfer a part of production from Naberezhnye Chelny to Dimitrovgrad. We like qualified workforce, experts. Also good is that the cities are quite close to each other,” noted General Director of KAMAZ PTC Sergey Kogogin.

As part of the DIP Master development project, the facilities of Dimitrovgrad Automotive Components Factory will be modernized to host new productions. It is also planned to reconstruct the existing and create a new transport and engineering infrastructure. In 2022-2023, Ulyanovsk Oblast represented by Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation and KAMAZ PTC plan to invest more than 200 m roubles for modernization of industrial buildings and creation of new sites for investors. The bulk of the sum will be allocated by KAMAZ.

“We find it crucial to develop industrial zones of the region in the current economy – to turn them into centers of intraregional and trans-regional cooperation. The plan for the development of DIP Master signed by KAMAZ’s head Sergey Kogogin and by us will give a new impetus to the development of the site DAAZ. Our joint investments will help accelerate the modernization of the buildings, arrange advanced and competitive terms for residents. Our common efforts will develop new productions in the park and create jobs for local people,” stressed Governor of Ulyanovsk Oblast Aleksey Russkikh.

Recall that the site of Dimitrovgrad Industrial Park Master was founded at the empty premises of Dimitrovgrad Automotive Components Factory in 2018. Its primary goal was to diversify the economy of the monotown of Dimitrovgrad. The park was set up by KAMAZ’s affiliate company Kama Industrial Park Master (KIP Master) and Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation. The regional government is taking an active part in the project, among other things providing financial support.

Last year, DIP Master was certified by the Association of Industrial Parks of Russia. The rapidly developing park offers almost 53 thousand square meters of modernized industrial sites requested by residents. Over 500 new jobs were created by the following companies operating there by the moment: Polesye DG, DAZ, Prizma, Avtosvet, AVP-Rotang, Torsion-D, etc. Investments to the park reached 1.4 b roubles, including more than 700 m roubles from KAMAZ, 500 m roubles from the federal budget under the national SME project and more than 150 m roubles from the regional budget.
