MAYOR OF SOCHI TESTED KAMAZ-6282

The other day, Aleksey Kopaygorodsky, Mayor of Sochi, personally tested the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus that has been on a trial operation in Sochi since the mid of June.

It should be recalled that the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus has already been tested in Kazan, Belgorod, Ufa, Perm, where the high-tech novelty of the passenger vehicle line of KAMAZ PTC proved to be good. The test operation is currently being carried out in Sochi. The electric bus has already travelled 3 thousand kilometers on the streets of the resort city and carried more than 10 thousand passengers. The model was highly assessed by the citizens and guests of the city. Appreciated were noiselessness, smooth running, a spacious passenger compartment with climate control, USB chargers and Wi-Fi, as well as convenience and comfort of the KAMAZ electric bus for mobility impaired citizens and passengers with children.

Head of the city Aleksey Kopaygorodsky tested the eco-friendly novelty and talked with Director for Passenger Transport of KAMAZ PTC Samat Sattarov. The top managers discussed opportunities of cooperation and service maintenance of electric transport.

The mayor informed about plans to replenishment of the city’s fleet with the latest passenger vehicles and readiness to consider all present-day offers by the top Russian producer of trucks and passenger vehicles KAMAZ PTC. “Already more than 100 methane-powered buses run on the public transport routes of Sochi. We also test electric buses. This is an important part of the ecological project of the city’s administration. We plan to renew the fleet of passenger enterprises also under the national project “Safe High-Quality Roads,” stressed Aleksey Kopaygorodsky.

Samat Sattarov, in his turn, told about the company’s wide opportunities in production of state-of-the-art efficient models of passenger vehicles, many years of experience in this market and willingness to work together. “Last year, we produced more than 2 thousand units of passenger vehicles, including 350 electric buses. Next year, we plan to make 500-600 electric buses. KAMAZ is ready to supply not only electric buses, but also comfortable eco-friendly buses running on NGV fuel successfully operating in many Russian cities,” noted Director for Passenger Transport of KAMAZ PTC Samat Sattarov.

Sochi participates in the program for renovation of rolling stock of ground public passenger transport within the frameworks of the federal project “Systemic measures to develop road facilities” of the national project “Safe and high-quality motor roads”. The RF Government approved a purchase order of 77 large-class buses, 26 of them are to be purchased by the end of the current year. Besides, next year, electric buses will start running on Sochi’s routes.
