TUTAEV MOTOR PLANT IS TO RECEIVE NEW EQUIPMENT

29 March 2024

In May, Tutaev Motor Plant, a KAMAZ subsidiary in Yaroslavl Oblast, is to receive a new rod complex producing a set of rods for V8 and V12 cylinder block castings.

The new equipment for the manufacture of core cylinder block sets has already been accepted by the customer company. Traditionally, the acceptance procedure was held at the manufacturing plant in China where Chief Metallurgist of Tutaev Motor Plant Sergey Balantsev had arrived with a working visit.

“90% of the equipment is already prepared for delivery. The compliance of the equipment in terms of composition, technical characteristics and performance was checked. In addition to the core machine, peripheral equipment for core set painting and drying and technological equipment will also be supplied. At the end of the acceptance, a protocol was drawn up, which included nine of our comments and demands,” the manager commented on the results of the working trip.

This is not the first equipment supplied to Tutaev Motor Plant by the Chinese partner: in the cast iron foundry of Tutaev Motor Plant, a rod complex has been operating since last year for the manufacture of a rod set for a cast iron cylinder head.

“Our Chinese partners will take into account all the wishes of our enterprise regarding the composition of the equipment and, without increasing the cost of the contract, will supplement it with a device for cleaning inflatable plates, an additional grip on the manipulator, forks for removing rods and pipes connecting the dust collector and the daily sand bunker, as well as a steaming bunker with a sand bunker,” said Sergey Balantsev.

Preprodution is scheduled to be finished at Tutaev Motor Plant in the summer, and the new technology for manufacturing block castings will go into mass production. Using the new technology, blocks for 8-cylinder engines of Tutaev Motor Plant and blocks for 12-cylinder engines supplied to the Yaroslavl Motor Plant will be produced.
