Airport Begishevo received a record number of passengers

The results of the work of Begishevo International Airport, a subsidiary of KAMAZ PTC, became a record in 2018 in the number of passengers served.

From year to year, the airport's passenger traffic is steadily growing: from 2015 to 2018, it has doubled. In 2018, 777 263 passengers were served in Begishevo, which is a record for it.

The peak month in 2018 was July: for 31 days, the airport served 88,350 passengers. The main growth of passenger traffic was recorded in the Moscow area: over 12 months, flights to the capital have been used by 566 535 passengers, or 73% of total passenger traffic in 2018.

According to Rosaviation, last year the airport Begishevo improved their positions and in the ranking of passenger traffic has moved from 36 to 35 among 258 of existing Russian airports. In the top list of the most popular routes at the end of 2018 were such directions as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Simferopol, Krasnodar, Antalya, Dubai.

Nine new flights were added to the list of flights from Begishevo in 2018. In particular, the low-cost airline Pobeda launched a flight to St. Petersburg, the airline Rusline opened four new directions from Begishevo to Nizhny Novgorod and St. Petersburg, to Mineralnye Vody and Yekaterinburg. In September 2018, due to the support of the Ministry of Transport and Public Road System of the Republic of Tatarstan, the schedule of Begishevo airport was replenished with direct flights to Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don by Azimut airlines. On international lines, in addition to flights to Antalya and Monastir, flights to Dalaman and Dubai has begun.

In February 2018, Begishevo took the second place in the nomination "Best airport-2017" in the category "international airport with passenger traffic up to two million passengers per year". Also it should be highlighted the achievement of the airport record time of service of low-cost airline Pobeda. Begishevo was the first airport that managed to reduce the service time of Boeing-737-800 to 20 minutes, while on average in Russia the standard turn time is one hour.

One of the most significant improvements of the year was the introduction of intermodal transport. In July, the low-cost airline Pobeda ran through the airport Begishevo the first in Russia inter-modal flight from Moscow to Izhevsk. Preliminary results showed the demand for the flight: since the launch of the new service, more than 3.5 thousand passengers have used a single ticket. Due to the introduction of intermodal transportation system, Begishevo Airport managed to significantly expand its agglomeration, flights became available not only for passengers from Naberezhnye Chelny and Nizhnekamsk, but also for travelers from neighboring cities and republics.

The new 2019 year promises to be also dynamic. The air harbor plans to launch two new flights to Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, to increase the frequency of flights to Antalya, to return the schedule of regular flights to Istanbul.
