KAMAZ and Weichai Power Co., Ltd will open a joint venture

Today, June 7, KAMAZ PTC and Weichai Power Co., Ltd (China) filed a joint application for registration of a joint venture for the production of industrial engines in Russia – KAMAZ WEICHAI LLC.

The joint venture KAMAZ WEICHAI, specializing in the production of industrial diesel and gas engines with a capacity of more than 17 liters, with a capacity of 520 to 2000 kW, is planned to be placed on the free space of the subsidiary KAMAZ in the Yaroslavl region – Tutaevsky motor plant PTC. The JV will be created on a parity basis.

The first engines are planned to be implemented this year. The products of the joint venture will meet the environmental standards of Stage IIIA. It is assumed that the main region of engine sales will be the CIS countries and the Customs Union of the Eurasian economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan).

The opening of a new joint venture with a Chinese company, a world leader in research, development, production and sales of diesel and natural gas engines, will organize a unique for Russia modern, flexible manufacturing heavy-duty engines," – said Director General of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin, he expressed confidence that the products created on the basis of a wide technical potential of KAMAZ and innovative approaches Weichai Power Co., Ltd, will be in demand.

The opening of the joint venture at the planned capacity will create about 160 new work places. In addition to the supply of high-tech products according the market demand, the company is ready to offer a full range of services, including engine maintenance and repair of any complexity, extensive consulting support and training of technical personnel, prompt delivery of original spare parts.

The joint venture plans to apply for the status of a resident of the territory of advanced socio-economic development Tutaev, located on the territory of the municipality of the city settlement of Tutaev Yaroslavl region.
