BELGOROD FINISHED TESTING KAMAZ ELECTRIC BUS

26 January 2022

Belgorod finished testing a KAMAZ electric bus received in October last year.

From October 20 to January 17, KAMAZ’s innovative electric bus was running as a tested vehicle along the route of Trolleybus M8 – from Airport to Technological University. Within three months, it travelled 15,403 km and carried 31,269 citizens of Belgorod. “During the testing period, we received positive feedback from passengers who liked the vehicle’s quiet and smooth running. The drivers were also satisfied with the electric bus operation. There were no serious critical comments concerning technical properties. After thorough analysis of all data, we’ll consider a decision to use electric buses in the region,” said Sergey Yevtushenko, Minister of Roads and Transport of Belgorod Oblast.

“The tested KAMAZ electric bus has already returned to Naberezhnye Chelny. We plan to give it to a transportation company in Perm for testing in February. KAMAZ and the city agreed on this in late November last year, during the Transport Week in Moscow,” said Andrey Dolganov, Head of Service for Promotion of Passenger Electric Transport of KAMAZ PTC.

Noteworthy is that Russian regions have long been interested highly in the company’s eco-friendly and game-changing transport means. Before testing in Belgorod, the KAMAZ electric bus had been test-driven on the roads of Kazan, with about 38 thous. people transported. 2022 will see testing of this bus continued in other cities.
