DELEGATION OF BMSTU AT KAMAZ

28 July 2022

KAMAZ PTC welcomed a delegation from BMSTU headed by Acting Rector Mikhail Gordin.

The delegation also included Boris Padalkin, First Vice-Rector, Vice-Rector for Academic Work, and Aleksandr Kartashov, Director of REC KAMAZ-BAUMAN.

KAMAZ’s guests visited the cast iron production at the foundry, the line of crankshaft stamping at the forge plant, the mother conveyor, and the cab assembly line at the truck production plant. Besides, the delegates got acquainted with the company’s gearbox production and range. The one-day visit was crowned with a tour of the KAMAZ Research and Development Center and negotiations on prospective cooperation in which Deputy General Director of KAMAZ PTC – Director of Development Irek Gumerov took part.

The auto giant and BMSTU have been successfully cooperating for many years in a number of areas. They have joint projects in mining trucks, forestry engineering, electric transmissions, etc. To add to this, the university hosts a scientific and educational center also working for KAMAZ projects.

Another significant venue of cooperation relates to the educational sphere. Moscow’s university professors lecture Chelny’s students and carry out researches in engineering.

“It’s important for us to offer high-quality education – not just a diploma, but real knowledge. Educational process has to be improved, it is sophisticated and quite complicated. So, our aim is a closer integration between our universities for graduation of more highly qualified experts not only for engineering and design, but also for production process,” told Acting Rector of BMSTU Mikhail Gordin. He also noted great opportunities of Naberezhnye Chelny’s branch of KFU in training of competent specialists. The proximity of the plant enables to accumulate practical experience and knowledge much more quickly than in Moscow.
