Drivers of the Auto Giant Competed for KAMAZ Cup

31 July 2017

A traditional competition of professional skills among truck drivers working in divisions and organizations of KAMAZ (part of Rostec State Corporation) was held at the auto giant.

The event was attended by 32 drivers from various divisions and subsidiaries of KAMAZ with a driving experience of 3 to 36 years. All of them transport goods and, as the key factor, have a driver's license of the C category.

The competition program consisted of one theoretical and three practical stages. The drivers showed their theoretical knowledge beforehand. At this stage, the men answered the questions of traditional examination papers of traffic rules - they are familiar to everyone who passed the exams to receive a driver's licence. And the main action unfolded on the site in front of the Essen shopping center in the New City part of Naberezhnye Chelny. As practical tasks, the participants performed exercises in a KAMAZ-65115 truck. Practical tasks as Backing into a Perpendicular Park, Depose a King and Slalom were based on usual maneuvering tasks. The peculiarities of their performance allowed the jury to assess the participants' skills in driving a truck, moving forward and backward.

At all stages of the competition, time and accuracy of task performance were taken into account, penalty points were charged for mistakes. At the same time, only a certain number of participants with the best results were allowed to a subsequent stage. As a result, the last practical task was performed by three drivers who struggled for prize places.
