GAS-ENGINE NEFAZ WILL BE TESTED IN PENZA REGION

KAMAZ delivered a low-floor NEFAZ-5299-40-57 bus running on compressed natural gas to the municipal enterprise Avtotrans located in the city of Zarechny, Penza Oblast, to undergo tests in real operating conditions.

The gas-powered NEFAZ bus will be tested on the urban routes of Zarechny for three months. At the end of the bus tests, Avtotrans will give the manufacturer their feedback on the results of the trial operation. The CNG NEFAZ-5299-40-57 is one of buses considered to be purchased under the regional transport reform.

The NEFAZ-5299-40-57 is a low-floor city bus of high capacity powered with a Weichai engine running on compressed natural gas. The bus is fully low-floor due to the use of the ZF portal axle. There is a passenger-friendly spacious compartment with a large standing area, convenient handrails, and a ramp. The bus features a kneeling system for passengers to get on and off the bus easily. There is a climate system to keep a desired temperature in the compartment. The designers paid great attention to the driver’s seat too: visibility is improved, an LCD-monitor is installed on the dashboard. The driver can enjoy maximum comfort using an air-suspended seat with an adjustable headrest and a backrest tilt. The NEFAZ-5299-40-57 fully complies with the “Accessible Environment” program and belongs to an “eco-friendly transport” category.
