Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ PTC, became a laureate of the republican competition "Leader of the Year-2021". The solemn award ceremony with the presence of Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, took place at the Korston Club Hotel in Kazan on December 28.
The KAMAZ top manager’s merits were highly appreciated by the expert commission and recognized in the nomination “For High Competitiveness”. Sergey Kogogin has been running the company for almost 20 years. Having headed KAMAZ in April 2002, he made a colossal contribution to the development of the enterprise in difficult times for the company. Under his management, KAMAZ became a global corporation.
Today the company is at one of the most interesting, meaningful stages in its history. In recent years, all production sites of the company have changed significantly – mainly due to the implementation of a large investment project and the focus on the development of K5 generation trucks. The production of a new line of straight-six engines for the new truck generation was organized. At the same time, serious steps were taken in the development of the concept of a new cab for K5 trucks, a cab frame plant was built, which is unique in the world in terms of the latest technologies and equipment.
As a result of this large-scale work, the team led by Sergey Kogogin managed to create the premium KAMAZ-54901 vehicle, which has one of the best fuel efficiency indicators among the competitors of the Big Seven. It became the top of the K5 line. The freight truck brought to the market in 2020 enjoys popularity and positive feedback. Today, there are over 2.3 thousand KAMAZ vehicles of this model on the roads of Russia.
