KAMAZ PTC and Metalloinvest signed a three-year memorandum on cooperation in deliveries of high-quality rolled (SBQ) steel produced by Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant which is a part of the mining and smelting holding.
The memorandum was signed at the 23rd International Industrial Exhibition Metal-Expo-2017 in Moscow. The document was signed by Deputy Director General for Procurement of KAMAZ PTC Rustam Shamsutdinov and Commercial Director of Metalloinvest Management Company Nazim Efendiev.
Under the agreement, KAMAZ intends to order up to 80% of required rolled steel of different sizes at Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant (OEMP). The parties will use formula pricing for supplied products with fixed prices for a quarter. Besides, the partners will consider establishing a regional warehouse to meet the needs of suppliers of components for the main assembly conveyor of KAMAZ.
"For more than eight years, Metalloinvest has been one of KAMAZ's strategic suppliers, and today's long-term successful cooperation between our companies has received a boost," Rustam Shamsutdinov commented on the signing. "OEMP's rolled steel is used at the KAMAZ plants for the production of important and high-load nodes and components of vehicles and contributes to the high quality of KAMAZ trucks." Mr. Shamsutdinov also noted that KAMAZ produced a wide lineup, including called-for off-road vehicles, therefore it was important to be confident in the quality of rolled steel and the supplier's reliability.

KAMAZ PTC is one of the key customers of steel by OEMP. From 2009 to October 2017, OEMP has shipped more than 400 thous. t of SBQ to the partner.
