KAMAZ at the exhibition of automotive equipment in Moscow

6 April 2022

Innovative KAMAZ vehicles were presented at the motor transport exhibition as part of the opening of the Electric Depot “Solntsevo” in Moscow, held on Tuesday, April 5.

The exhibition was timed to coincide with a business meeting of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin with business representatives in the field of transport and passenger engineering on the issue of providing support to enterprises under sanctions, which was attended by representatives of KAMAZ.

By implementing a large-scale project to modernize production and expand the model range, KAMAZ has recently made significant progress in the development of innovative transport. The company's exposition presented novelties from a wide range of products. Among the exhibits are the KAMAZ–6282 electric bus, the KAMAZ-6292 articulated electric bus, a garbage truck on the KAMAZ-53605 chassis, as well as a garbage truck, a tow truck and an on-board vehicle with a CMI based on the Compass-9 chassis, and other special equipment. These are the latest models of eco-friendly, innovative transport developed by KAMAZ workers for the Russian urban infrastructure.

The advantages and high efficiency of the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus are confirmed by real operating conditions for a long time: this model has been used in Moscow since 2018 and has quickly gained popularity. Today, 750 KAMAZ electric buses are operating in the capital; all electric buses are serviced under a life cycle contract that is 15 years. Electric buses are the most innovative and environmentally friendly land transport. In 2021 alone, electric buses in Moscow reduced the amount of greenhouse gases by 30 thousand tons – this is an important indicator for large megacities. According to the decision of the Moscow Government, from 2021 only electric buses are purchased for the needs of the city.

In addition, taking into account the successful example of Moscow, more and more Russian regions are showing interest in the KAMAZ electric bus: today this high-tech innovative transport is undergoing test operation in other cities of the country.

Due to their technical characteristics and operational properties, other new models of vehicles that were presented at the exposition of the leader of the Russian cargo engineering deserve no less interest. Garbage trucks, tow trucks and other special equipment based on the KAMAZ chassis and the Compass low–tonnage chassis are novelties of the model range created for the effective solution of tasks relevant to the Russian regions.
