KAMAZ AT THE SUMMIT “RUSSIA – ISLAMIC WORLD: KAZANSUMMIT 2022”

The top managers of KAMAZ took part in the business program of the XIII International Economic Summit "Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022", which took place in the capital of Tatarstan last week.

The grand opening of the XIII International Economic Summit "Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022" was held in Kazan on May 19. As Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov noted, KazanSummit is Russia's main platform for economic interaction between regions and countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Its main goals are to develop economic, trade, socio-cultural ties between the regions of the Russian Federation and the countries of the Islamic world. The three-day event was attended by representatives of 65 countries and 55 regions of the Russian Federation.

Russian breakthrough developments and flagship projects were demonstrated at the exhibition area of the forum. The Russian top truck maker presented the latest generation KAMAZ-54901 freight truck and the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus in its exposition. Another eye-catching exhibit highlighting versatile achievements of Russia’s anchor company was the racing truck of the KAMAZ-master team – one of those on which the Blue Armada repeatedly won victories in the most difficult international rallies.

After the grand opening and tour of the exhibition dedicated to the summit, KAMAZ General Director Sergey Kogogin held negotiations with representatives of business circles fr om the Republic of Senegal. The businessmen discussed the terms and progress of the construction of the KAMAZ assembly plant in the country and the possible supply of KAMAZ vehicles. Negotiations were also held with the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The focus was on plans to upgrade the fleet of trucks, special equipment and to purchase buses.

Negotiations between Head of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin and top public officials of Turkmenistan were one of the central items on the agenda of the first day. The parties discussed the prospects for signing contracts until 2024 and the establishment of a joint venture for service maintenance, as well as the construction of an assembly plant in Turkmenistan. In addition, in the course of business communication, the issue of the possible organization of the start of the Silk Way Rally 2023 in Ashgabat was touched upon. Having examined the electric passenger transport presented at the exhibition, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed interest in purchasing such environmentally friendly buses for the country. The parties discussed the upcoming delivery of two KAMAZ-6282 electric buses for test operation.

In the afternoon, the KAMAZ top managers took part in negotiations on the prospects for the supply of vehicles to the Kingdom of Bahrain and a closed meeting of Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of foreign states in Russia, wh ere a KAMAZ presentation was delivered.

On Friday, May 20, Acting General Director of KAMAZ International Trade Company Vasily Tsyganov and other top managers met with representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan and discussed the possibilities of cooperation. In addition, negotiations were held with Vice-President of Kyrgyzindustry OJSC Sovetbek Sarbanov. The negotiators discussed potential supply of a large batch of KAMAZ-5490 road trains with container chassis and curtainside semi-trailers.
